4th Seminar on Pediatric Oncology
On February 24, sponsored by the Rui Osório de Castro Foundation, the 4th Pediatric Oncology Seminar will be held at the Pediatric Hospital in Coimbra, PAIS, FAMILIARES and FRIENDS of children / adolescents with cancer.
This seminar is addressed to the families of these children but is open to all who accompany or accompany this reality in their daily lives - survivors and their families, volunteers, students and professionals in Pediatric Oncology - who with their experience greatly enrich this sharing of information.
This is the first time that this Seminar will be held outside of Lisbon. This year in Coimbra and in 2019, and if everything goes well in Oporto, cities where pediatric oncology units are found. In this way we want to give families from other parts of the country the opportunity to participate in this seminar we organize for them.
The topics covered will be The role of parents during hospitalization, Homecoming, Survival and as is already the practice in Pediatric Oncology Research. During this last block will also be awarded the prize to the winner of the 2nd edition of the Rui Osório de Castro / Millennium bcp Award, an initiative that will reward € 15,000 for a project that promotes the improvement of the care provided to children with cancer.
